Tech Hiring Gap asks why layoffs, openings, and actual hiring drifted apart after 2020 without defaulting to blaming AI. A Python pipeline pulls FRED, BLS JOLTS, Indeed Hiring Lab, Challenger, and NY Fed data, then builds a six-chapter static page: the 2020-22 boom, the turn as rates rose and the Section 174 R&D tax rule changed, the cuts, the openings-per-hire gap, who is shut out, and a causes table with feedback-loop diagrams that separates measured steps from proposed ones. Headline figures like the unemployment rate are always paired with broader measures, and a generated sources page shows where each number came from and where it falls short. Charts are hand-written SVG with light and dark themes, keyboard access, and table views. Published via GitHub Pages.
